My Personal Journey - Ollie O'Driscoll

So its nearly been a year since I joined Agri FJ and what a year it has been. I joined as a recruitment consultant with 6 years prior experience of recruitment within an Industrial/Skilled and Commercial agency, and no great knowledge or understanding of the Agricultural and Farming industry. Since joining I have worked on a variety of different roles from Agricultural Insurance Underwriters, Field operators and Breeding station managers to name a few, all varying in seniority. Before joining Agri FJ I wasn’t sure that I would pick things up very quickly nor relate to the industry, but I can honestly say that Kate and the Team here along with the clients and candidates couldn’t have been more willing to help me learn.

My background in recruitment was very much Warehousing and distribution based with some office roles added in but it was all very samey, here I work with and manage a vast array of different projects in varying different sectors of the Agricultural world and am ever learning new things.

After a short time with the business and meeting my targets consistently, I was promoted to Senior Recruitment Consultant (in line with the career progression plan) and I am now aiming and working positively towards another promotion hopefully by Quarter 4.

I have built strong partnerships with a number of key accounts and Agri FJ are now their chosen recruitment partner for all of their ongoing recruitment needs. There is nothing I enjoy more than building strong relationships with both clients and candidates to enable me to find the right people or roles for them.

I can honestly say that I don’t think there is an industry quite like it but I have grown very fond of the Agricultural world and the opportunity that Kate and Agri FJ offers is second to none.
