Purpose of the job: My Client are currently seeking to strengthen their on-farm team. The ideal candidate will be BASIS qualified (or part qualified) and have agricultural experience in agronomy, farm management or trials and research.
The candidate will play a key role in facilitating business on-farm by building outstanding customer relationships, providing a comprehensive advisory service, and maximising crop production for the farmer while increasing sales for the business.
Understanding ‘end markets’ for farm outputs and being able to support the customer with advice on the most appropriate management strategy to maximise the crop potential and achieve the volume and quality standards appropriate to these end markets.
To provide an integrated and comprehensive service on all aspects of Crop Production to customers.
Work with support departments to place and track orders.
Building a comprehensive knowledge of the Company’s products and services in order to achieve the best commercial, quality and relationship outcomes for customers and the company.
Crop walking regularly; establishing a strong relationship with the customer and understanding their on-going needs.
Build strong relationships with the Trials teams and Technical Support Team, supporting initiatives and developing own product and customer knowledge.
Working with colleagues to identify new and develop existing customers.
Build relationships with experienced Commercial Managers; building commercial understanding alongside technical knowledge.
Ideal Person Skills and Qualifications:
Experience of working in agriculture with a good understanding of the sector.
FACTS and BASIS qualifications.
A strong desire to develop a successful career as an Agronomist.
Ability to build outstanding professional relationships with customers and colleagues.
Ambition and resilience to develop new business and succeed in a commercial sales role.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
A high level of initiative with strong planning and organisational skills.
High standard of numeracy and literacy and good attention to detail.
Good computer skills including Microsoft Excel.
