​Anaerobic Digestion Plant Manager - Norfolk

Job Description:

Day to day running of the Farms Anaerobic Digestion Plant. The role encompasses a wide variety of responsibilities including problem solving and using the plant control system. There are a range of daily operational and maintenance duties including completing daily and weekly site checks to monitor the health of the plant to ensure optimum performance. There will be scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, and an importance of maintaining safety at all times. Environmental consideration will be important in meeting the requirements of the environmental permit.

Responsibilities include:

Maintaining feedstock records, feedstock mix parameters and feedstock feeding and ensuring agreed targets and goals are achieved with maximum output and minimum downtime.

Key Responsibilities:

Anaerobic Digestion Plant & Personnel SAFETY.

Responsible for ensuring:

• Personal safety, Safety of others, Plant safety.

• To ensure ALL safety features & monitors are serviceable.

• Ensure an Emergency Action plan is in place.

• Routinely update of the risk assessment & other safety procedures.

• PPE is warn at ALL times.

• The site is secure when not manned.

2. Anaerobic Digestion Plant ENERGY PRODUCTION.

Responsible for ensuring the plant:

• Feed twice a day to give maximum energy production in the form of Electric & Heat.

• Solid waste is carted out to fields.

• A suitable mix of feedstock is utilised.

• Daily, Weekly, Monthly checks are carried out including Phostac readings.

• Sufficient feedstock is planned for the year.

3. Anaerobic Digestion Plant EFFICIENCY.

Responsible for ensuring the plant:

• Produces 703KW of Electric + 599KW + 199KW of HEAT.

• Minimum flare time.

• Minimum Feedstock.

• Clark Efficiency data.

• Feedstock waste.

• Minimising Breakdowns.

• Running Costs.

• Planned Maintenance.

• Set KPI’s.

4. Anaerobic Digestion Plant MAINTENANCE.

Responsible for ensuring the plant:

• Daily, weekly, monthly checks.

• Completing 6 month Thioni Action plan for maintenance.

• Carry out ALL routine maintenance (Period based, hour based).

• Carry out maintenance of JBC, Defacer and other Aux equipment.

5. Anaerobic Digestion Plant ENVIRONMENTAL.

Responsible for ensuring the plant:

• Adheres to the Mere Farm Environmental Permit.

• Has all relevant testing at the required periods.

• Is audit ready at a very short notice period.

6. Anaerobic Digestion Plant MISCELLANEOUS.

Responsible for ensuring the plant:

• All relevant documentation is kept up to date.

• Tidiness of site at ALL times.

• Feedstock covers checked.

• Lagoons checked.

• Perimeter checks.
