Business Development Manager

Location of the Job: Home-based (Living in: Devon / Cornwall, Lancashire / Cumbria or Derbyshire / Staffordshire / Leicestershire. )

The Company: Our client is a premium supplier of high quality Agricultural Products, who supply farmers and agricultural businesses throughout the UK.

The Industry: Agricultural supplies, farm supplies, cattle equipment, dairy technology, fencing supplies.

The Job Role details:

This is a field based role and you will be calling on farm, selling the full range of company products and services to farmers within your sales area. You will be responsible for developing and driving the area sales.

As a Business Development Manager you must possess a unique blend of business and technical knowledge. You must enjoy spending time in the field - on farm and at agricultural shows, events and exhibitions.

Key Responsibilities:

You will;

  • Lead the annual sales and marketing plan for your designated sales territory.

  • Deliver annual sales and gross margin budget objectives.

  • Promote the key brands and products.

  • Prospect and present products and services to Farmers, Contractors and Vets in your sales area.

  • Work closely with the product development team.

  • Develop, build and maintain strong working relationships with current and new customers.

  • Keep customers informed of new products and services.

  • Co-ordinate and implement sales promotional programmes.

  • Provide training and technical support to new and existing customers.

  • Liaise with the relevant Company personnel to ensure new product and business growth opportunities are maximised.

  • Report monthly on sales performance, new product introduction and submit monthly expense records.

  • Monitor competitor activity regularly.

Ideal Person Skills and Qualifications:

You will have / be;

  • Proven sales success in a similar role.

  • Used to selling to farmers and the agricultural industry.

  • Be living within the sales territories listed above.

  • A good technical approach.

  • Sound knowledge of livestock and grass-based systems.

  • A quick learner – able to learn and adapt to new technical products and systems.

  • Highly self-motivated.

  • Good at planning and organising your own diary.

Additional Information: This is a permanent full-time role.

Salary package: A basic salary of circa £28,000 per year, depending on experience.

OTE: Realistic OTE of £50,000 +
