The Company The client is a Rural estate whose primary businesses are Residential and Commercial Property Management, Farming, Forestry & Holiday Parks. The Estate has a herd of Cattle which currently numbers just over 200 head.
The Job Role Overview: Continued expansion means that they are now seeking an enthusiastic assistant stockperson / General Farm Worker to assist the Herd Manager who is responsible for the day to day running of the Farm enterprise. The successful applicant will be expected to assist with all aspects of suckler cow husbandry, from calving through to finishing. They will assist with the day to day running of the herd as well as management of the land.
Key responsibilities:
Scraping out / Bedding / Feeding (with Mixer wagon)
Checking all Stock (inc. Tack Sheep) for Health and Wellbeing
Dosing / Vaccination / Clipping
Calving
Grassland and Arable fieldwork
Fence maintenance
Building maintenance / Cleaning out sheds
Show preparation and assistance
Machinery and Equipment maintenance
Salary package
£24,180 annum
The successful candidate will be expected to work an average 6 day week. (Monday - Friday, plus every other weekend). The average working week will be in the region of 55hrs. The Holiday entitlement for this position is 35 days p.a. including statutory Bank Holidays.
A cottage on the Estate can be provided rent free on a Service Occupancy Agreement., however all bills will be the responsibility of the Employee
