Our client is a well-established and highly respected multidisciplinary property consultancy operating across the UK.

The Job Role:
This is an exciting opportunity for a Building Surveyor to join a growing professional consultancy team delivering high-quality surveying and consultancy services across a varied property portfolio.

The successful candidate will be involved in contract administration, project monitoring, building surveys, planned preventative maintenance programmes, dilapidations, and conservation-focused projects. The role will also involve developing client relationships and supporting team members within the business.

Location:
Central Scotland.

Salary Package: £35,000 - £55,000 Basic Salary Depending on Experience + Car Allowance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contract administration and project monitoring

  • Undertaking building surveys and producing detailed reports

  • Preparing schedules of condition and planned preventative maintenance programmes

  • Preparing tenders and contract documentation

  • Advising on procurement routes, contractor appointments, and consultant engagement

  • Producing scheme designs and specifications of works

  • Preparing schedules of dilapidations

  • Advising on historic building preservation and conservation

  • Managing statutory consents and compliance requirements

  • Carrying out duties in accordance with CDM2015 regulations

  • Managing client relationships and acting as a key point of contact

  • Delivering projects to agreed deadlines and performance targets

  • Supporting and mentoring team members if required

  • Maintaining strong awareness of industry regulations including RICS guidelines, and best practices relating to project management, employers agent and reinstatement cost assessments.

Candidate Skills and Experience:

  • MRICS is preferred, although you may also have CIOB, RIBA, CIAT, MCABE or other equivalent professional qualifications will also be considered

  • Strong understanding of CDM regulations and health and safety legislation

  • Experience in contract administration and project delivery

  • Competent at technical work such as surveys, design and specification, principal designer role under CDM regulations, party wall, dilapidations planned maintenance programmes

  • Excellent client relationship and communication skills

  • Commercial awareness and financial cost management understanding

  • Ability to identify and develop business opportunities

  • Strong organisational and time management skills

  • CAD experience desirable

  • Full UK driving licence essential
