Farm Liaison - Digestate

AWSM Farming is based at Hutton Magna, near Scotch Corner, in the North East of England and has been trading since 1996. It is a very diverse business, farming a large area of arable land, Livestock Enterprises, Agricultural Contracting, Haulage, Recycling and supply of services to the Anaerobic Digestion Sector. Current area covered is from Hull to Newcastle and this is likely to continue to expand.
The job:
You will report directly to the business owner and be responsible for overseeing the land bank, storage and spreading of in excess of 500,000 tons of liquid digestate per annum. Tasks required would be:
•Promote the use of digestate as an alternative supply of nutrients to traditional fertilizer
•Speak to farmers to see what digestate they will require each season
•Collect soil samples if required
•Obtain maps etc from the farmers and add to our mapping system
•Check all external storage regularly and rectify any problems or arrange work to be done
•Oversee spreading of digestate, which is done by our own teams and subcontractors
•Ensure spreading teams are recording all spreading on our bespoke App and update as required
The ideal person will be from an agricultural background and be used to dealing with farmers. A can-do attitude is a must, as is a willingness to get stuck in when tasks need doing. You will not come home as clean as you left on some days! Based close to the office ideally, but would consider anyone from Hull to Newcastle as would not need to come to office everyday.
Must haves:
A driving Licence is essential as a lot of time will be spent driving between sites. A company pick-up is provided.
Desirable:
FACTS qualified would be good, but not essential, as would be a HGV licence.
Salary range £30,000 to £35,000
