The Job Role:
The General Farm Worker supports daily farm operations, focusing on crop cultivation and production, irrigation, and the estate work. This role requires teamwork, attention to detail, and a commitment to health, safety, and company standards.

Location: Sovereign Turf Ltd, Sutton Hoo Farm, Woodbridge, Suffolk, IP12 3DJ.

Salary Package: £13 - £14.50 Per Hour Depending on Experience + Overtime is paid at time and a half.

Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 7am - 4:30pm, however flexibility is required including evenings, weekends, and busy seasonal periods.

Reporting To: Farm Production Manager.

Working Conditions:
Outdoor work in all weather conditions.
Manual labour, including lifting heavy objects and standing for long periods.

Key Responsibilities:
Crop production:
Cultivations
Drilling
Fertiliser application
Hoovering
Mowing
Irrigation

Machinery and Equipment:
Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment (tractors, ploughs, harvesters, etc.).
Report breakdowns or concerns promptly.
Perform routine inspection and basic repairs.

Estate work:
Maintain cleanliness in work areas and storage.
Assist with general maintenance and estate works as required.

Teamwork and Communication:
Work and communicate effectively with other team members.
Adhere to company Standard Operating Procedures and Policies.
Follow all Health & Safety legislation and report any areas of concern.

Candidate Requirements:
Experience working on a farm preferred, but training may be provided.
Knowledge of farming best practices.
Ability to operate and maintain farm equipment.
Physically fit and able to work in all weather conditions.
Valid driver's license
Telehandler and rough terrain forklift certificate desired, however training will be provided for the right candidate.
Strong attention to detail, reliability, and a positive attitude.
