Who we are:

The Camphill Village Trust is a registered charity formed of ten communities and services in England offering opportunities for people with learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs and other additional needs to live, learn and work with others of all abilities in an environment of mutual care and respect.

Botton Village:

Botton is home to adults living with disabilities and is open to the public.

The estates team is a newly formed team tasked with maintaining and enhancing the estate for the enjoyment of the residents and people who visit.

We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled and experienced Grounds Maintenance Operative to join our estates team and help us maintain the grounds of Botton Village.

Who we are looking for:

  • An experienced, enthusiastic and knowledgeable Grounds Maintenance Operative, with particular interest in providing a high standard of horticultural, with skills in the maintenance and care of herbaceous borders, turf and hedges.

  • A good communicator with excellent customer service skills and a polite and friendly manner, as you will be liaising with staff, people we support and members of public.

  • A proactive, self-motivated, reliable and flexible individual.

  • An ability to carry out physical work/manual labour, as you will need to work outside for most of the day, and some aspects of the job are particularly physically demanding.

  • You will lone work, but will have the support of other members of the team, as required.

  • Full driving licence and a trailer (BE) would be an advantage.

  • A PA1 and PA6 pesticide qualifications is essential for this role or willing to work towards this and a NPTC/Lantra horticultural certification would be a distinct advantage as would a first aid certificate.
