Hire and Sales Manager

Location of the Job:

Based near to Cambridgeshire - not expected in the office every day.

Salary & Benefits Package:

  • A highly competitive basic salary in the range of £25,000 - £35,000 DOE.

About The Company:

A specialist supplier of agricultural machinery and equipment - including combine harvesters.

The Job Role Details:

Due to success, growth and expansion our client is now looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Machinery Sales Manager. This is a key senior position within the company and you will report directly to the General Manager and have responsibility for developing sales and hire, of new and used agricultural and farming equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
You will…

  • Plan and prioritise sales activities to maximise hire and sales turnover in line with business aims.

  • Market the company's products and services using; publication advertising, in-house and external websites, direct mail shot, telephone sales, agricultural shows etc.

  • Use customer and prospect contact activities tools and systems, and update relevant information held in these systems.

  • Identify and respond to opportunities to hire and sell the company's products.

  • Accurate record keeping.

  • Process successful sales and hire agreements.

  • Maintain discussions with customers regarding the execution of any sale or hire agreement as required and to include that payment is received including liaison with finance companies as required.

  • Provide specialist finance / broker support to potential customers including; accurate assessment of customer needs, identify suitable finance schemes available from our partners, process documentation all in line with current FCA regulations.

  • Monitor market and competitor activities including machine availability and prices and ensure that records are kept up to date.

  • Assist in the preparation of departmental budgets and provide regular feedback to the management team on achievements and forecasts throughout the year.

Ideal Person Skills & Qualifications:
You will have / be…

  • A farming background.

  • A good understanding of agricultural and farming machinery.

  • Sales experience.

  • A good communicator with enthusiasm and creativity.

  • An understanding of machine finance would also be an advantage.

Essential Skills

  • Agricultural machinery knowledge.

  • Sales experience in a similar role.
