About Us:

Since formation in 1997 and subsequent flotation in 2006, NMR has grown and developed into an integrated service provider working for farmers and milk buyers as well as an independent source of data for advisors such as vets, farm consultants and breed societies. The NMR Group today is structured around four revenue streams:

  • Milk recording
  • Disease testing
  • Payment testing
  • Genomic testing

The Role:

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will provide crucial support to the finance team, focusing much of your time between purchase ledger and cashiering. Basic office administration tasks will also form part of this role so you should have a flexible approach and willing to do “whatever is required”.

Essential Key Skills:

-          Flexible and team player

-          Experience of purchase ledger with strong attention to detail

-          Strong IT skills and able to manipulate Excel spreadsheets

-          Enthusiastic and organised

Key Responsibilities:

-          Daily allocation of all cash received to the sales ledger

-          Log, code and send purchase invoices for approval

-          Process approved purchase invoices

-          Chase purchase invoices awaiting return from budget holder

-          Code and post employee expenses and credit cards

-          Deal with incoming and outgoing post on a daily basis

-          Responsible to maintaining and ordering stationery supplies

-          Daily post and other admin tasks as required

Area Field Manager - Hereford/ Worcester

Area Field Manager Hereford/Worcester 


As part of the NMR Group of Companies, we require a Full Time Area Field Manager (AFM) based in the Hereford/Worcester area. The AFM will be responsible for effective service delivery within the area by ensuring a motivated, well trained and supported group of self-employed individuals to provide milk recording services to NMR customers. The role will also be responsible for the management of an employed Area Coordinator on a day to day basis. The AFM will work with the Customer Account Manager (CAM), providing effective cooperation and co-ordination of resource between the two roles which will ensure high quality service and continued business development in the area. Team working will be fundamental for the continued success of the area. This role will be home based.

Essential Key Skills:

- A graduate, HND or equivalent in agriculture or relevant commercial experience 

- Practical farming experience and knowledge of the dairy industry

- Good time management and communication skills 

- Ability to work in a flexible manner, adapting to new situations 

- Self-motivated with a positive, enthusiastic attitude 

- Valid current driving license  

- Ability to lead a team and ensure motivation and engagement

- Ability to work effectively within a team and add value

- Strong attention to detail ensuring accuracy in work produced

- Fully PC literate

- To be located within the area

The role responsibilities: 

- To be responsible for the delivery and quality of service provided to approximately 160 herds

- To ensure the retention of NMR customers 

- To effectively manage the self-employed milk recorders and samplers on a day to day basis

- To undertake recruitment and training of self-employed Individuals

- To manage and support the employed Area Coordinator on a day to day basis

- To be responsible for data quality in the area

- To work closely with the Customer Account Manager (CAM) to ensure high quality service and continued business development

- To undertake the promotion of new services as they are developed in the business

- To assist in additional projects as and when required

- To maintain accurate and timely records on the Customer Relations System

- To ensure that new herds are commenced in a timely manner

- To undertake extensive driving on a daily basis

Day Shift Laboratory Technician (x2) Hillington, Glasgow

Dayshift Laboratory Technician (x2) – Hillington, Glasgow

As part of the NMR Group of Companies, we require two Laboratory Technicians located at the Hillington Laboratory (30 hours per week).

The Laboratory Technician will provide the knowledge and skills to assist with the ongoing testing and registration of samples as well as basic maintenance of instruments that are fundamental to the laboratories operation.  Carrying out your duties you will be required to work a Saturday to Tuesday shift pattern, which includes bank holidays.  From time to time training and cover may be required during the laboratories operational times on the night shift.

As a Laboratory Technician you will:

·         To register and analyse samples submitted to the laboratory following published Standard Operating Procedures and Quality Standards.

·         To ensure that any instrumentation that is used during analyses is operated to established KPI’s.

·         To monitor and apply any amendments made to standard working practices.

·         To be responsible for  completing laboratory records accurately

·         To assist in the maintenance of the supply of consumables and reagents utilised in the laboratory  

·         To report any sample registration or sample analyses that do not conform to standard procedures

·         To ensure the quality of customer communications, both verbal and written are of the highest standard

·         To understand and follow all health and safety procedures involved with both the site and individual workstations

Nightshift Laboratory Supervisor

Nightshift Laboratory Supervisor – Hillington

As part of the NMR Group of Companies, we require a Nightshift Laboratory Supervisor located in our Hillington Laboratory, Glasgow

The Role:

-          Working a 7-nights-on-7-nights-off shift pattern from 9pm to 7.30am inclusive of weekends and bank holidays.

-          To lead a team of highly skilled technicians to ensure the timely throughput of samples from receipt to reporting.

-          Carry out testing such as antibiotic, compositional quality and hygienic quality.

-          To ensure that your team adhere to published working practices and quality standards, and train them in any procedural changes.

-          To take direction from the Laboratory Manager to ensure the smooth running of the laboratory.

-          Computer based element to the role with the creation of certificates and use of software to run instruments.

-          Excellent organisational skills are required.

-          Excellent attention to detail to ensure the accurate reporting of results.

-          Ensure that available equipment operates to maximum efficiency.

-          Carry out any other duties that management may deem appropriate from time to time.

-          The role will report to the Deputy Laboratory Manager.

The nightshift laboratory supervisor role will be challenging and exciting.  It will encompass a wide range of skills such as, excellent communicator, excellent organiser, and have an excellent attention to detail to ensure we offer a high quality service which is efficient.  We are looking for a candidate who can lead by example and support the business in being the market leader in this area.

Nightshift Testing Supervisor

Nightshift Testing Supervisor - Hillington, Glasgow

As part of the NMR Group of Companies, we require a Testing Supervisor located at the Hillington Laboratory.

The Testing Supervisor will provide guidance, instruction and direction to laboratory technicians.  They will have the purpose of managing the processes involved in registering and analysing samples and authorising results in accordance to customers agreed service levels.  Carrying out your duties you will be required to work on a Wednesday to Sunday dayshift. 

As a Testing Supervisor you will:

•         Manage the workflow through the various Laboratory departments to ensure resources are used as efficiently as possible

•         Ensure samples are registered, tested and results entered in accordance with published SOP’s and working practices

•         To train all laboratory staff in new laboratory methods and amendments to existing ones

•         Assist the Quality Unit in maintain training records for all Laboratory Technicians

•         Assist the laboratory’s aim for UKAS accreditation according to the timescale set by Laboratory Management

•         Provide assistance with both internal and external customer testing issues associated with the laboratory

•         Ensure that available equipment operates to maximum efficiency

•         Deal appropriately with internal and external customer queries
