Our client is one of the UKs leading hardy nursery stock suppliers into the landscape industry, supplying both commercial and domestic, local authorities, landscape architects and designers, construction companies and nurseries. Their production is heavily geared towards producing top quality amenity plants and an increasing range of specimen plants.
Our client is actively seeking to strengthen their operational team to support ongoing improvements and further growth.
Reporting directly to the Purchasing Director and working within the buying team you must be able to work under pressure whilst always focusing on supplier cost, quality and timing of delivery to ensure department Key Performance Indicators are achieved.
• Source and purchase products to meet customer requirements whilst ensuring company profitability is achieved and budgeted standard costs are met.
• Working with a wide range of suppliers across UK, Europe and own production nurseries, to develop and use best practice supply chain techniques to optimise efficiency.
• Manage inventory levels within company guidelines to ensure optimum customer service.
• Work closely with the Sales and Logistics department to ensuring stock availability, minimise wastage, and maximise efficiency through the supply chain.
We seek applications from candidates with previous knowledge of modern Purchase/Supply chain techniques, ideally CIPS qualified or studying towards. Good plant knowledge will be a distinct advantage along with good commercial awareness. You will need to be Self-motivated, with good time management skills as well as able to communicate effectively at all levels. You must have experience of working with KPI’s and using formal problem-solving methodology.
This is an office based role, with supplier visits as required. Normal working hours are 08.00 to 17.00 Monday to Friday (working additional hours during peak times).
