The Regional Seed Sales Manager role is key for the effective planning and operation of the Seeds department, working alongside the Head of Seed and the Regional Managing Director (South).
The role exists in order to provide a commercial steer throughout the South region in respect to Seed, providing information and updates to Agronomists and customers with the ultimate aim of improving sales and profitability of Seed throughout the region.
An important element of this role is the building of strong working relationships within the region at all levels, influencing and driving seed sales whilst respecting and supporting the Agronomist-Farmer/Grower relationship.
The RSSM will need to support Seed Managers / Product Managers and Team Managers, setting targets and agreeing Seed Prospects, analysing results and supporting the continual development of Agronomist knowledge in Seed.
Overall Job Responsibilities:
Fully integrated member of the Regional Management Team, working closely with the Regional Managing Director and the Team Managers to develop and deliver the seed business strategy for the region, in line with Company objectives and commercial requirements.
Take an active and strategic role within the Seed department, working closely with other product managers to develop and deliver product campaigns and strategies for the region and supporting or leading strategic projects.
Accountable for creating, identifying and developing opportunities for Seed business growth throughout the region, responding to change and challenges with good business acumen.
Development of creative and innovative methods to encourage seed sales, influence engagement with Seed strategy and sharing commercial and technical product information with stakeholders.
Working closely and strategically with other teams/departments including Nutrition, Soils, Research & Development, in order to identify innovative and relevant products and services which enable future growth and opportunity.
Qualifications & Skills/Experience Required:
Comprehensive knowledge of the agricultural industry and sales are essential.
Graduate level (Agricultural degree or equivalent).
Able to demonstrate good commercial awareness, seed related technical skills and background knowledge.
Able to meet strict time frames and budgets for commercial plans and activities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Highly organised and able to prioritise workload.
Ability to form and develop rapport with Agronomists and customers.
Experience of consultative selling – demonstrable customer portfolio.
