Business Development Manager - Forage & Silage Additives Specialist - Home Based - Up to £70K Basic + Bonus + Many Company Benefits

The Company;

Our client are a highly regarded Animal Nutrition Business and are the leading product specialist in Advancing Livestock Productivity in the key areas of young animal nutrition as well as forage conservation. 

The Role;

This leading role is required for commercial direction for their Forage range specifically selling the ECOSYL silage additives brand. 

Role Responsibilities;

To be responsible for the profitable growth of the ECOSYL silage inoculant brand to fully meet and exceed customer expectations.

To be involved in the development and implementation of  the  business 5 year plan for the Forage  product range.

Develop pricing policies in conjunction with marketing and the commercial teams 

Be accountable for the profitability of the forage products brand range through good pricing management and facilitating and co-ordination with Technical (formulation), Purchasing and Production teams.

Monitor competitor activity addressing trends and market developments.

Identify new opportunities for Product and Market development in target countries.

Leverage technical expertise and know-how to develop near market training and support to our Customers.

Develop relationships with targeted influencers, plan and oversee the distribution of marketing and technical information to relevant influencers globally (e.g; farm advisors / nutritionists and forage specialists).

Provide customer/distributor support in the form of customer visits and technical presentations relating to the nutrition, husbandry and management of forage products for dairy cows (including presentations at customer visits, sales meetings, technical meetings, new product launches, staff training).

Use the business systems including CRM to enable good customer communication and relationship management. 

Ideal Qualifications;

Ideally relevant Agricultural Degree 


Candidate Specification;

Significant brand management expertise and proven success.

Knowledge of silage additives, forage and livestock.

Experience in selling to merchants, distributors and Farmers. 

Vision and power to motivate Colleagues and Customers.

Commercial judgement to identify and capitalise on profitable opportunities.

A strategic mind, creative and ingenious.

Good Team Player and active listener.

Completer and finisher.

Very good communication skills.

Good analytical and organisation skills

Good computer skills.

Good presentation skills

Good empathy and emotional intelligence.

Salary Package on offer;

£60k - £70k Basic (Depending upon on experience)

+ Fantastic company Bonus
