HDS Technical Support Specialist – Milton Keynes - Salary Between £31K - £36K basic – 12889 JP

A global and very successful company and their products employ a variety of technology including GPS satellite navigation and laser rangefinders to enable users to model existing structures, terrains in computer based systems to pinpoint precisions.

The Role:

The company are looking for an experienced and successful Technical Support Specialist, the role is not limited to purely customer support, it also includes the testing of equipment, investigation of specific client issues and pre-delivery inspection. This means you will be involved in checking instruments for the Calibration, Function & Quality of data. A key benefit is ongoing training through development. You will also be expected to carry out some customer training on both hardware and software. You will be expected to: Create and deliver your own material. Deliver material created by others. In the office and at the clients site. Manage the administration for the courses.


Duties & Responsibilities:

 

  • Assess enquiry by phone, email or live-chat
  • Collate information – log in Salesforce Cloud (Support Console)
  • Re-direct if appropriate – collaborate with colleagues and other departments
  • Investigate issue thoroughly to resolve
  • Use open questioning to elicit a broad picture of the problem
  • Use closed questioning to trouble shoot and eliminate possible causes
  • Research solutions in the Knowledge Base
  • Replicate issue and document
  • Communicate different levels of technical knowledge to varying levels of understanding in a simple and coherent manner.

The Candidate

  • Higher Education Qualifications – Survey/Civil Engineering with 1 to 2 years site experience or associated qualifications and or experienced based industry qualification.
  • Proven experience in Laser scanning systems and software, the use and application of such technology within multiple industries.
  • A working knowledge of other manufacture laser scanning systems
  • Awareness or working knowledge of design and data processing software (Cyclone, CloudWorx, AutoCad, etc)
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written
  • Ability to understand technical or mechanical issues related to Surveying and Engineering
  • A strong aptitude to technology and associated software developments.
  • An understanding of UK surveying terminology and practices
  • Entrepreneurial drive and strong work ethic
  • Strong sense of urgency, responsibility and accountability
  • Experience of ScanStation range (C10 to P50) and BLK360
  • Experience of Cyclone Classic, Register 360, All types of CloudWorx, 3D Reshaper and knowing IMS Map 360 would be an advantage.

Language & Computer skills required: 

  • English fluent written and verbal
  • Have fluent working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
  • Have working experience of using survey application, design or mapping software suites.
  • Aptitude to new technology’s and developments for construction

The Package:

Salary: £31k  – £36k basic ( Dependant on experience ) + competitive benefit package.
