Agricultural Engineer – Kent – Paying up to £40K
Working on a wide variety of equipment from self-propelled spinach harvesters, herb harvesters, mounted and self-propelled sprayers, precision drills, spider drills and planters, bedformers, toppers and flail mowers, Kubota engines, tracked machines (small) self-propelled, irrigation pump shed controls, underground mains systems, pneumatics, all cultivation equipment and a fleet of trailers and irrigators - all agricultural machinery except tractors.
Due to the success of this company, they are now in need of an experienced Agricultural Engineer to assist in this role.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the repair, maintenance and diagnosing of faults on Agricultural Machinery to a high standard both out on sites and in the workshop.
It is essential that the successful candidate has relevant experience working on small engines - KUBOTA engines are preferred but are not essential, and be an enthusiastic, conscientious, reliable and hard working person.
A knowledge of irrigation pump systems including computerised panels is necessary as irrigation equipment is a large part of the business. From complete overhauls during the winter ready for next season, running repairs throughout the season and underground pipe repairs and extensions.
The suitable candidate should have:
A good knowledge and understanding of: 12v electrics and hydraulics.
Mechanical, electrical and fault diagnosing.
A full driving license and own vehicle to get to the depot, due to the rural location. Works vehicle is provided for call-out jobs.
The role may sometimes include an element of heavy lifting.
A basic salary in the region of £30,000 - £40,000 depending on experience.
