Assistant Accountant

ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT                      

Reporting to:  Finance Manager

Since formation in 1997 and subsequent flotation in 2006, NMR has grown and developed into an integrated service provider working for farmers and milk buyers as well as an independent source of data for advisors such as vets, farm consultants and breed societies. The NMR Group today is structured around four revenue streams:

  • Milk recording
  • Disease testing
  • Payment testing
  • Genomic testing

The Role:

The Assistant Accountant will be responsible for supporting the Finance Manager with month end reporting and balance sheet reconciliations together with assisting in the implementation of a new finance system due to go live Spring 2020.

Essential Key Skills:

-          Strong reconciliation skills

-          Flexible and team player

-          Intermediate Excel skills to include VLOOKUP

-          At least three years working in an accounts environment

Key Responsibilities:

-          Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts to include calculation of accruals and prepayments

-          Weekly bank reconciliations for various accounts

-          Maintain Fixed Asset Register and assist with preparation of quarterly VAT return

-          Monthly balance sheet reconciliations

-          Review and reconciliation of sales and purchase ledger balances and support colleagues who maintain these

-          ONS returns
