Farm Grain Trader
We are proudly recruiting for one of the UK’s leading traders of grain.
Due to significant growth and development they are now seeking a Farm Grain Trader in Yorkshire. They also have requirements for the Midlands, North West and the Borders.
As Farm Grain Trader you will be responsible for trading grain from the companies UK farmer customers to domestic and international end users.
You will be responsible for developing new contacts and an existing customer base.
An essential part of this role will be to provide technical information and advice to farmer customers on all aspects of arable crop production including seed varieties, fertilisers, lime and agrochemicals. FACTS and BASIS would both be desirable however are not essential.
Overseeing farm grain pricing, managing purchases from the farm trading team and matching purchases to end users.
Building relationships and trade with the UK’s main millers.
Find good markets for farmer customers and drive profitability for the business in a dynamic, market-driven environment.
Evaluate the many factors that influence the domestic grain market.
Extensive farm calling will be required to take over and manage existing accounts and in the establishment of new accounts.
Previous work experience in agricultural sales or grain buying or as a farm trader.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to deal effectively with farmers.
Good knowledge of agriculture and arable cropping.
Hungry, tenacious and driven.
Seeking a long-term position.
FACTS and BASIS qualifications desirable but not essential.
Good communications skills with the ability to communicate well with farmers.
Able to work alone and also as part of a team.
Clean driving licence.
