Grower Manager - North West UK

GROWER MANAGER – PLANTS – NORTH WEST

 

Our client is seeking an experienced Grower Manager to help grow plants and also effectively manage the team of up to 6 growers in the North West.

 

The role:

To produce high quality plant products on a large commercial scale; hitting targets and deadlines, managing the efficiency of the processes required whilst managing a team of up to 6 growers based in the North West of England.   

 

Daily responsibilities:   

Implementing all business processes across all sites assigned to you and your team, this includes; water management, IPM, crop protection methods, environmental management.

Effective management and utilisation of your team, including management of weekend duty scheduling liaising directly with Production manager as to requirements.

Daily communication with production/Operations managers with regards to product availability and lifting schedules.

Be aware of product placement and space planning.

Communication with QC team as to specifications and product quality.

Report any site management issues to manager.

Daily management of growing equipment and effective reporting of sprayer, irrigation issues to maintenance manager.

   

Planning:

Work closely and effectively with the Production Manager and Head of Operations in relation to the product range and preferred purchasing of plugs and sundries.

Meet agreed production deadlines to the highest quality.

Attendance and input into meetings as required e.g. – Production, Sales, NPD.

 

General:

Keeping up to date with technology and developments within the industry in order to improve quality and efficiency on the nursery.

Develop a good working relationship with colleagues, site landlords and customers.

Adopt a professional manner at all times at work and whilst representing the company on foreign, UK visits.

 

Package:

Basic Salary of between £35k - £45k
