Horticulture – The Agriculture of Plants. How much do you know?

Our Horticultural Division has blossomed since we moved in to 2020. The agriculture of plants, flowers, fruit and vegetables for food, materials, comfort and beauty is big business. We are looking for candidates who are ready to work in the industry to fill our current roles now!

Horticulture is different from agriculture in that it normally deals with small scale gardening, usually in enclosed or covered spaces, as opposed to larger scale extensive crop production. There are 3 separate areas of Horticulture that you might not be aware of;

Pomology – The planting, harvesting, processing, storing and marketing of fruit and nut crops.

Olericulture – The same as Pomology, but for vegetable crops

And Ornamental Horticulture.

There are lots of careers available within horticulture including plant breeding, growing, genetic engineering, research, food science, floral design, pest control and marketing amongst many other exciting career paths.

We are currently recruiting for the following roles;

Purchasing Manager – Fresh Fruit and vegetables, Wales £50K

Horticultural Sourcing Specialist, West Midlands £28-30K

Horticulturalist, Grower and Propagator Manager, Essex £30K

If you are interested in any of the above roles, or in working in Horticulture in general, please email your CV to Kate Moxon; kate@agrifj.co.uk
