The business requires a talented and capable individual to maintain, operate and produce from specific machines (Newtec weigher , Jasa VFFS machines, Sorma RB2 Net clippers, Cremer/Hachmang capper and counting machines. ABB Robots, Fuji Robots, and various other packing machinery). All training will be provided.
The business is going to be dependent on this individual to lead a team during the active periods of the year and is expected to complete orders as demanded by the customer.
Your key responsibilities will be:
Manage the line on a day-to-day basis and achieve daily quotas.
You’ll be expected to maintain high levels of cleanliness in your operating area and ensuring of a machinery clean down between and after production runs.
Work as a Team with line staff and the Operations Manager to meet the required standards.
Lead by example to promote Health and Safety at work.
Dispense on the line training and mentoring of other employees.
Take responsibility to ensure all startup/shut down checks are carried out.
Ensure all job information is correctly input into the ice/smartdate printers, i.e. variety, grower code, date, crop id and size.
Take inventory of all consumables needed and required.
Take inventory of all and any spare machinery parts.
Carry out required quality control checks to ensure this meets out standards and each customer specification.
Maintenance of the machinery to either prevent machinery failure or resolve any faults or locate faults.
Order picking and palletising of orders for despatch as and when required and the ability to use handheld scanners to complete the task.
Applicants must have a full driving licence to apply.
Applicants must have forklift experience and be able to complete a refresher course if needed.
Production knowledge and experience is beneficial.
Computer knowledge is essential, along with other ICT equipment
Ideally the candidate will have experience of being involved in a high-speed production environment.
Horticultural knowledge and experience.
Fresh produce and perishables knowledge and experience.
First aid experience.
Fire Marshall experience.
Working Pattern: Hourly position varying days/times, including late afternoons and evenings and weekends, entirely dependent on operational needs.
