Agricultural Parts Advisor

Parts Advisor experience is not essential for this role - as long as you have good knowledge of the agricultural and farming sector and farm machinery.

Location of the Job: Shropshire, West Midlands. Office-based role.

Additional information:

  • Working hours are 8am - 5pm Monday to Friday.

About The Company:

The Job Role Details:

We are now looking for an Agricultural Parts Advisor to assist the Parts Department in meeting business objectives by ordering parts, goods in and out, the displays and retail area, and dealing with customer inquiries.

Parts Advisor experience is not essential for this role - as long as you have good knowledge of the agricultural and farming sector and farm machinery.

Key Responsibilities:
You will…

  • Assist the parts team in implementing all parts sales and marketing initiatives, as per the business plan and/or marketing calendar.

  • Ensure that the administration of the Parts Department is done correctly and on time.

  • Manage goods in and out, receiving, checking and putting away supplier deliveries, informing of shortages or damaged stock.

  • Identify customer's spare parts requirements in store, over the phone and email, using online parts systems.

  • Sales order processing and invoicing using our Dealer Management System (Ibcos Gold).

  • Organise part returns (within time restrictions) and couriers.

  • Assist with rolling stock taking programmes, to ensuring all stock is always located correctly.

  • Pre-picking of parts.

  • Liaise with other departments to ensure elite information flow and assistance when necessary.

  • Utilise sales techniques such as upselling and related selling, maximise all opportunities to increase sales and profits through customer communication. This includes communicating relevant leads and/or information to the Service and/or Sales departments.

  • Maintain and enhance current and prospective customer relationships.

  • Ensure that the showroom (including displays and their contents) is kept clean and up to date on a regular basis in order to encourage customer browsing. This includes proper pricing and display of all retail goods and special offers, as well as displaying relevant posters and maintaining proper levels of cleanliness.

  • Improve product knowledge within the role by identify any training needs to assist and support.

Ideal Person Skills & Qualifications:

  • Excellent customer communication skills and telephone manner.

  • Agricultural machinery or automotive knowledge.

  • Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience in dealing/negotiating with customers: handling queries, selling, resolving issues.

  • Good time keeping.

  • Flexible.

  • Able to multi-task.

  • Able to work to deadlines.

  • Organised.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel desirable but training can be provided.

  • Experience working with Ibcos Gold system would be an advantage, but not essential, as full training will be provided.

  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment as part of team and independently.
