Agricultural Service Engineer
Location of the Job: South West; Dorset, Wiltshire, Bristol, Avon.
The Company: Is a highly specialist machinery dealership, supplying customers throughout the south of England.
The Industry: Agricultural Machinery, Farm Machinery, Garden Machinery, Groundcare Machinery, Horticultural Machinery, Construction Machinery.
The Job Role details: Reporting directly to the Aftersales Manager, as a Service Engineer you will be responsible for making sure all machinery and equipment runs smoothly, and you will provide excellent customer service to customers, helping to maximise customer retention and increase profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
You will:
Service and repair machinery and equipment within a specified timescale, either in the workshop or during field visits.
Work on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic or computerised systems.
Advise customers’ requirements and make appropriate recommendations
Respond to machinery and equipment breakdowns.
Find faults or install replacement parts.
Check and calibrate instruments to make sure they are accurate.
Account for all hours worked using timesheet or scanner.
Produce timely and detailed job cards to provide a full explanation of work carried out as per manufacturer's requirements.
Keep the Service Manager, or their Assistant, informed of progress.
Build and maintain positive customer relationships and actively seek new business.
Maintain work area and company vehicle in a safe, tidy and professional manner, necessary to enhance productivity and efficiency.
Act in accordance with the company H&S Policy, Risk Assessments and Safe Working Practices.
Conduct weekly company vehicle service and maintenance checks.
Ideal Person Skills and Qualifications:
You will have / be:
Good mechanical knowledge and experience in the Agricultural sector.
Able to work to tight deadlines and work well under pressure.
Manage a varied workload.
Able to troubleshoot, test, repair and service technical equipment.
Able to keep up to date with new technology.
Good problem-solving skills.
Excellent health and safety skills.
A full, clean driver’s licence is essential.
Additional Information:
This is a permanent full-time position.
Travelling is required in order to carry out your role effectively.
Salary package: Paying up to £15 per hour depending on experience.
Plus Benefits: A fully expensed service vehicle, overtime rates of pay, company pension, death in service, 22 days annual leave, mobile phone and company training.
