Agricultural Service Technician

Location of the Job: Pontesbury, Shropshire

Situated in rural Shropshire, just a short distance from the Welsh Border, Pontesbury Tractors Ltd are a well-established Case IH dealer, providing high quality, friendly and reliable service to customers throughout the whole of Shropshire and into North Wales.

The business was founded in 2011 and since then has expanded rapidly, with the team over doubling in size and providing customers with an ever-growing list of quality brands covering all aspects of agriculture, including Amazone, Krone & Trioliet.

The Job Role Details:

The role will include the repair and maintenance of Case IH tractors and a wide range of machinery franchises. Primarily, your daily duties will be; servicing, repairing, fault-finding and diagnostics as directed, both on-farm and in our Workshop. You will play a key role in supporting our busy service department, whilst providing an excellent level of service to our customers.

Key roles:

Perform diagnostics and repairs on agricultural equipment, in our workshop or on field as required.

Complete all job cards, reports and administration work as required.

Maintain a clean work station, assist with overall workshop organization and correct use of tools and vehicles.

Follow all safety rules and regulations in performing work.

Participate in Service Training Certification programs required for the development of skills and knowledge.

Perform pre-delivery set up on new or used equipment.

Mentor apprentices.

Demonstrate and install machinery as required.

Salary and Benefits Package:

Salary: £30,000 - £50,000, dependent on experience.

Additional information:

This is a permanent full-time position.

Working hours are 8am - 5pm, Monday to Friday plus overtime.

Ideally you will:

Have a relevant qualification, or equivalent experience within the field of Land Based Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.

Have the ability to repair and maintain machinery, using special tools and equipment following approved technical procedures.

Have excellent people skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels.

Be willing to participate in training to improve and further your skills.

Be willing to work overtime at peak periods.
