The Company:

My clients are a busy, long established, RCVS-accredited, independent small animal, equine and farm animal veterinary practice.

Their experienced equine team of vets provide routine work, such as 2 and 5 stage horse vetting's, flu jabs, and routine dentistry as well as emergency care around the clock for their customers horses, ponies and donkeys.

My clients also provide a complete routine service to a wide range of farming enterprises, such as dairy, beef and sheep.

There are 5 Vets currently in this ambulatory team, who are a friendly bunch with a wealth of experience and good support network.

Provide their own 24 hour emergency service, ensuring that when their customers need them most, they will be there for them.

This position does require out of hours cover for the practices loyal clients and there is 24/7 on site VN support.

Experience is strongly preferred but recent grads will be considered. 

Cases include principally pleasure & competition horses but some stud and race work if interested.

Farm work is mostly “fire brigade” work.  

With the help from my clients ambulatory equine technician you will be encouraged to work up cases as far as possible using either their; wireless digital X-ray machine, battery powered URT endoscope or gastroscope, diode or therapeutic laser, choice of 3 scanners or battery powered dental kit. They also have a comprehensive in-house blood machine.  

Come and join their enthusiastic dedicated team. You will have the full support from the 2 partners, 2 other assistants and the many support staff behind the scenes.  

Candidates must be dedicated, genuine team players with a passion for providing the best service they can for all their patients and their owners.  

The rota is shared equally between the 5 equine vets. You will get 5 weeks holiday, plus 3 days CPD, and a long weekend off every 5 weeks.

The Job Role details:

An exciting opportunity has arisen at my clients fabulous veterinary practice for a full time Ambulatory Equine / Farm Animal Vet Surgeon to start ASAP.

Equine 80%

Farm 20% - No TB Testing!

Aim of the role:

My client is looking for an enthusiastic, confident, team player, cheerful Ambulatory Equine / Farm Animal Vet vet who is willing to get stuck in.

Key Responsibilities:

Ideal Person Skills and Qualifications:

MUST be a qualified RCVS registered Ambulatory Equine / Farm Animal Vet.

MUST be a dedicated, genuine team players with a passion for providing the best service they can for all their patients and their owners.

IDEALLY looking for at least 12 months of UK experience or more, however a confident new graduate would be considered.

IDEALLY would live within 45mins of the practice.

Additional Information:

5 weeks holiday plus bank holidays

4 days fully funded CPD allowance

Pension scheme

40hrs per week - would consider part time.

Salary package:

£29,000 - £75,000+ depending upon experience
