​Area Field Manager – Somerset

As part of the NMR Group of Companies, we require a Fixed Term Contract Area Field Manager (AFM) based in Somerset for a period of 14 months starting October 2021. The AFM will be responsible for effective service delivery within the area by ensuring a motivated, well trained, and supported group of self-employed individuals to provide milk recording services to NMR customers. The AFM will work with the Area Development Manager (ADM), providing effective cooperation and co-ordination of resource between the two roles which will ensure high quality service and continued business development in the area. Team working will be fundamental for the continued success of the area. This role will be home based.

Essential Key Skills & Requirements:

•A graduate, HND or equivalent in agriculture or relevant commercial experience

•Ability to manage a team and ensure motivation and engagement

•Farming experience and knowledge of the dairy industry

•Time management skills

•Effective communication skills

•Ability to work flexible hours

•Self-motivated with a positive, enthusiastic attitude

•Full current driving license

•Ability to work effectively within a team and add value

•Strong attention to detail ensuring accuracy in work produced

•Fully PC literate

•To be located within the area

Key Responsibilities:

•To be responsible for the delivery of service to defined performance standards for your allocated herds

•To effectively manage the self-employed milk recorders and samplers on a day to day basis in line with Service Level Agreements

•To undertake acquisition and training of self-employed Individuals

•To recruit, manage and support the employed Area Coordinator on a day to day basis (Where applicable)

•Managing customers’ subscription / accounts

•Sales of additional services & testing

•Achieving revenue levels in accordance with budgets set

•Territory performance reporting and analysis of results with an appropriate action plan

•Lead generation

•Health & Safety compliance

•Co-ordinate Herd Competitions (Where applicable)

•Promote NMR and assist at local and national events e.g. shows and farm walks

•Milk Recorder / Sampler monthly payments

•To maintain effective knowledge of NMR products and services including the wider industry

•To work closely with the team to ensure high quality service and continued business development

•To participate in additional projects as and when required

•To maintain accurate and timely records on the Customer Relations System

•Driving will be a significant aspect of your role
