Assistant Customer Service Manager

Location: Newark

The Company: Our client established over 10 years ago are a key supplier into the Agricultural sector and serve a wide range of solutions to a variety of commercial customers.

The Role: To assist in managing operations and driving continuous improvement within the Customer Services and Despatch departments, shaping effective and efficient operations. To assist the general manager as required whilst supporting and developing the team.

Main Duties:

  • Assist in managing the day-to-day operations of the business, ensuring deadlines and time scales are met and orders are communicated to production in a timely manner
  • Ensure effective communication with production to assist in balancing workloads and manage customer expectations
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of order information transfer to production
  • Drive excellent standards of customer service throughout all areas of the business at all times whilst ensuring profitability
  • Instil a culture of efficiency and effectiveness in operations with the aim of improving customer service levels and reducing costs
  • Assist the General Manager with stock control procedures including ordering and avoidance of stock outs
  • Develop staff through training, coaching and mentoring to deliver the Company's objectives ensuring all staff are proficient and have confidence in creating orders accurately and knowledgeable when speaking to customers
  • Develop commercial awareness within the business
  • Apply strong people management skills, motivating the team to perform to the best of their ability
  • Share best practice across the group, assisting the General Manager and the Operations and Projects Manager in driving continuous improvement
  • Assist in the implementation of internal projects including systems improvement and design
  • Implement company policies and procedures
