​Bulk Materials Handling Technician

Location of the Job: Predominantly Essex, Suffolk, South Norfolk and West Cambridgeshire.

The Company: Our client specialises in the design, supply, installation and maintenance of handling, cleaning, sorting, drying and storage grain and crop storage solutions.

The Industry: Agriculture, Farming, Grain and Crop Storage Solutions.

The Job Role:
Installation of new and the maintenance and servicing of existing grain and crop storage solutions. Our clients customers base is predominantly agricultural dealing with small family farms, large farming companies and co-operatives. The job is varied which ensures every day there is a new challenge whether it be replacing the belt and bucket assembly on an existing elevator, installing a completely new plant on a greenfield site or simply carrying our preventative maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will:

  • Carry out installation of new handling, cleaning, sorting and drying equipment, working alongside a design team and commission them on completion.

  • Maintain, service and fault finding on existing equipment.

  • Operate mechanical equipment such as scissor lifts, articulated booms and telehandlers.

Ideal person skills & qualifications:
The suitable candidate will:

  • Have a good skill level, knowledge and experience in both electrical and mechanical engineering.

  • Experience in fabrication and welding.

  • Knowledge, understanding and experience in the use of power tools.

  • Not phased by new challenges.

  • Prepared to work away from home when the need arises.

  • Team player but also not afraid to work alone on occasions.

Additional information:

  • This is a permanent full-time position.

  • Normal working hours 7am-4pm.

  • Overtime expected during the longer summer months when installation and service work is at its peak.

Salary Package: A basic hourly rate of £12 - £15 per hour depending on experience.
