The Company: We are seeking a Cereals and Oilseeds Knowledge Exchange Manager on a permanent basis. This is a field based role and would cover all of Scotland.

The Job Role Overview:

This role requires a strong communicator with excellent facilitation skills who is also able to establish credibility amongst Cereal & Oilseed levy payers and stakeholders in Scotland. Working to key operational and business plan targets, this role also plays a huge part in delivering a world class knowledge and information delivery service to farmers, therefore specialist agriculture experience is essential

Responsibilities

  • Deliver a range of activities covering Knowledge Transfer and Knowledge Exchange (including conferences, workshops, meetings, webinars and podcasts) within Cereals & Oilseeds, ensuring that expertise and engagement is maintained and enhanced

  • Increase the engagement of, and with, Levy Payers and Stakeholders to achieve the targets set and agreed

  • Deliver projects within the budget allocated, providing accurate and appropriate reporting information

  • Provide levy payer feedback to the wider team and research function to help contribute to the delivery of priorities and requirements.

  • Write and deliver information to promote both the sector, products and services

  • Be involved in a range of business development campaigns, projects and initiatives as the first line of contact for levy payers and stakeholders

  • Establish and maintain contact with the industry through participation in meetings/events/open days and conferences when needed

Essential Criteria

  • Detailed knowledge of farming with relevant sector experience, ideally having gained a BASIS certificate or other technical qualification, although not essential

  • Practical hands-on experience facilitating and delivering Knowledge Exchange activities at farmer meetings and high-profile conferences

  • A skilled communicator who can speak with authority and write clearly and effectively

  • Confident to work with and lead industry partners.

  • Proactive individual with proven experience developing innovative and effective Knowledge Exchange approaches

  • Excellent project management capabilities

  • Must live within the region and have the flexibility to travel on a regular basis

Salary package: £34- £40K
