We are situated in a rural environment, in a beautiful picturesque village in the Surrey area.

The practice itself is ideal for hitting the shops in the local village centre, including a library and a leisure centre. Or, make use of the excellent travel network to reach larger cities, such as Crawley and Woking.

They are an independently run family business seeking an enthusiastic and passionate, Deputy Head Registered Vet Nurse (DHRVN). Are you an RVN looking for your next step?

The successful candidate will be assisting the Head Nurse in the day to day running of the nursing team, as well as all the standard nursing duties, such as; Nurse Consults, Anaesthetics, in-patients and some reception duties.

Must be confident with sole charge nursing duties.

There will also be the opportunity to get involved with Home Visits, Nurse Clinics and K-Laser Treatments.

We are a local vet you can really trust, with inpatients cared for 24hrs a day.

CPD is provided as the company believe in investing in their people and infrastructure to provide the best care.

The Job Role details:

Supporting the Head Veterinary Nurse, offering a full range of advice, products and veterinary services for clients and their animal.

Aim of the role:

To be the recognised point of contact, in the absence of the Head Nurse, for the other nurses and to diligently fulfil all other work objectives, as listed below.

Key Responsibilities:

All round Experienced Registered Vet Nurse (RVN)

Passionate about Small Animals

Consults in the practice, or sometimes as home visits

Sole charge

Assisting the Head Nurse with the day to day running of the nursing team

Nurse Consults

Anaesthetics

In-Patients

Reception Duties

Nurse Clinics

K-Laser Treatments

OOH is covered by Vets Now - however, there may be vary rare occasions when we keep low risk in-patients overnight, and you may be required to do a later check (on a rota).

Ideal Person Skills and Qualifications:

MUST be RCVS Registered

MUST be Flexible

MUST have experience of working in busy practices

MUST have good communication skills

MUST be excellent in team working

MUST be able to work with tight deadlines

MUST be punctual

MUST have a driving license (or the ability to get one before taking up position)

IDEALLY interested in the latest technology, as the practice has lots of new gadgets including K-Laser!

Additional Information:

28 days holiday per annum.

37.5hrs per week.

Shifts are 7.5hrs with 1 hour lunch between 0800 and 1900.

Plus 1 in 3 Saturday mornings (0800-1230).

USUALLY No OOH.

Accommodation is available and onsite parking.

CPD allowance

Salary package:

£25000-£28000 depending upon experience.
