Design and Development Engineer - Farm Machinery Manufacturer

  • Are you a Design Engineer in need of a new challenge and would you like to work for a local family run company?

  • Do you have proven 3D CAD, Adobe Suite and Agricultural experience within a manufacturing setting?

  • Do you have the ability to create 3D models and technical drawings to a high standard?

Location of the Job: Office-based, in Suffolk.

Salary and Benefits Package:

  • Paying up to £40,000 salary depending on experience.

The Job Role Details:

This is your chance to be part of an innovative and dynamic company, who now require a Design and Development Engineer to join the growing team to support the increasing number of farmers. Using the company's system, farmers are reducing their costs, achieving consistent yields and improving their soil health.

Key Responsibilities:
You will…

  • Create all 3D models and ensure that technical drawings are correct and to a high standard.

  • Create all technical diagrams to be used for production and service.

  • Liaise with the production team.

  • Create decals for machines.

  • Model and draft new designs.

  • Create and update operator and parts manuals for current machine range.

  • Run FEA simulations on new and existing parts.

  • Assist with creating sales and service documentation.

  • Mentor Junior Designers.

  • Ensure machines comply with The Machinery Directive (2006/42/EC) and the EU Transport Regulations (Homologation) and are designed to ISO Standards.

Ideal Person Skills & Qualifications:
You will have / be…

  • Design engineer experience in a similar role.

  • Have good knowledge of Solidworks software or other transferable skills from other CAD packages.

  • Machinery manufacturing experience - ideally agricultural machinery.
