​Bocketts Farm Park is a well-established, family run working farm attraction based in Leatherhead, Surrey. A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Experienced Stockperson.

You will be supporting the Farm Manager with the day to day management of the farm and livestock, ensuring the highest standards of animal welfare whilst maintaining safe working practices at all times. The role is very varied and includes livestock management, general farm duties and maintenance. You will be required to cover for the Farm Manager on his days off, so livestock experience is essential. The successful candidate must be fully experienced with all duties associated with managing sheep. You will also be working with a small herd of cattle, pigs, camelids and goats (experience desirable but not essential). Current flock size is 320 ewes. We lamb a small flock in December and Feburary with the main flock lambing over 6 weeks March/April.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with a ‘can do’ attitude. Perfect for someone with a passion for farming and a love of the outdoors.

Job Description:

•Care of the sheep, cattle and pig herds (at least 3 days a week).

•Maintenance, cleaning and disinfection of livestock facilities.

•Assisting in general stock care duties when required.

•Efficiently maintaining required herd records such as the medicine book and individual animal records.

•Assisting in ensuring that optimum levels of herd/flock productivity are achieved.

•Farm maintenance, including repairs, fencing, hedging, building maintenance and water supplies.

•Experienced tractor driver for seasonal tractor jobs- loader work, hauling trailers, tedding hay, topping etc.

•Carry out preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment.

•Ensuring that the highest standards of housekeeping are maintained throughout the site.

•Work in a safe manner in accordance with industry best practice and the farm health and safety policies.

•Assisting work experience students and educating visitors.

Working Hours:

Average of 45 hours per week, but extra hours will be required around lambing time. 5 days a week (Tuesday- Saturday) including bank Holidays. 28 days paid holiday.
