The Company:

Our client is an established family run business who specialise in growing high quality Mushrooms. They now are seeking to recruit a Mushroom Farm Manager.

The Job Role Details:

As a Mushroom Farm Manager, you will be overseeing the Shelving Farm, involved in the Growing of the crop from start, involving quality checking, to final packaging of finished product. To be extremely hands-on, direct, and self-motivated. Knowledgeable and skilful within Mushroom or General Vegetable Farming. Able to be responsible for leading and directing a team, working to the business needs and requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Involvement with growth of the crop on a phase 3 compost.

Case running, pinning, growing, estimating, and liaising with picking team.

Detect, and treat any diseases.

Quality examination of mushrooms and prepare for sale.

Maintain strict cleanliness of farm and packaging areas.

Manage your team, delegation, training, and developments and highlighting any issues.

Maintain excellent housekeeping, accurate inventory and records as required.

Food safety, hygiene, assured produce scheme audit (Red Tractor), HACCP, BRC, Manual handling and Health & Safety.

Skills and Qualifications:

Previous Mushroom Farm Management experience (Ideal) – OR – Vegetable Farm Management experience.

A passion for Farm Management.

Growing experience: Mushrooms OR Vegetables.

Good Technical Agricultural experience.

Able to manage a large team, lead, direct and work as part of the team.

Enthusiastic with High Energy, practical with an eye for details.

Extremely Hands-on.

Flexible with good problem-solving abilities.

Good communication skills and a ‘Can-do’ Attitude.

Salary package:

£ 40,000 - £ 50,000 p.a. – Experience Dependant
Plus: Provided On-site Accommodation
