Farm Manager

This is a rare and exciting opportunity for a Farm Manager truly dedicated to rare breeds and who has a genuine interest in producing top quality meat, whilst being a part of a growing commercial enterprise. All our meat is supplied to the restaurant trade in London. This is a job for a special kind of farmer, who understands extensive farming methods and who is a knowledgeable countryman with a genuine passion for biodiversity and who has a sound understanding of sensitive grassland and woodland management. Rare breeds include White Park cattle, Portland sheep, Iron Age pigs in woodland and free range, rare breed Indian Game chickens and West of England geese.

Ideally that person will have a passion for livestock farming, a knowledge of meat, poultry and game and a commercial mind. A great opportunity for a true countryman, wanting to be a part of an incentivised, exciting commercial enterprise on an old fashioned, secluded farm in Dorset where the beauty of the farm, and its maintenance to a very high standard, is a key factor. A tidy farm is of paramount importance.

The small family shoot is also an important element, so working closely with the gamekeeper is important.

A new Farm Manager’s house has recently been built in the style of the original barn. There are three double bedrooms.

The overall package for the successful candidate will be £30K +
