Farm Office Assistant - The Job Role Details:
As Farm Office Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day administrative and compliance needs of a dynamic farming operation. This is a varied, largely office-based role with the opportunity to contribute to both core farm business functions and exciting projects. From data entry and document management to customer service and social media support, this is a unique opportunity to be involved in multiple facets of a growing rural enterprise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide general administrative support for farm operations, including machinery costings, data entry and marketing projects
- Support farm carbon audits and maintain farm assurance documentation
- Assist with audit preparation and accompany inspectors during site visits
- Support the Farm Secretary and deputise for the Managing Director when required
- Help plan and deliver Open Farm Sunday and similar outreach events
- Assist with day-to-day management of indoor and outdoor space for hire:
* Respond to customer emails and social media messages
* Maintain access codes and keycode systems
* Oversee site maintenance and improvements
* Draft newsletters and social media content - Maintain and update Health & Safety documentation and risk assessments
- Support internal H&S reviews and ensure compliance across the business
- Manage digital communications, including Mailchimp newsletters and SurveyMonkey forms
- Respond to email enquiries relating to both the farm and projects
Ideal Person Skills & Qualifications:
You will have/be:
- Agricultural understanding: A background, qualification or interest in farming
- Experienced in office administration with strong digital skills
- IT confident - able to use spreadsheets, digital forms, email marketing tools, and farm software
- A clear and professional communicator, comfortable engaging with team members and external contacts
- Flexible and adaptable, able to support a variety of tasks in a busy rural business
- Self-motivated with a positive, can-do attitude and willingness to take initiative
- A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
