Fruit Buyer

Purpose of the job:
Due to huge success and future plans for growth my client is now seeking a driven, passionate and experienced Fruit Buyer to join their team.
Role Responsibilities:
To be a key member of the commercial team, focusing on procurement.
Provide support across the procurement/buying function, with a key focus on fruit procurement to include product quality, product ordering, shipment, and associated paperwork.
Managing the communication with suppliers both in the UK and overseas.
Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, identify and resolve supply chain issues.
Monitoring and reporting against KPIs.
Actively engage in SOPs on the supply side.
Ideal Person Skills and Qualifications:
Hungry, driven and a go-getter.
3+ years’ experience as Buyer – must have fresh produce experience.
University degree.
Excellent communication & planning skills.
Plenty of initiative and ability to work unsupervised.
Ability to use spreadsheets, databases and other IT programmes.
Ability to remain calm under pressure and make decisions quickly.
Salary:
The salary will be dependent upon experience.
