Head of Procurement
Location: Midlands

The Company:
A leading producer of prepared meal solutions, supplying a range of stir-fry ingredients to the largest grocery retailers.

The Purpose of the Job:
Part of the Leadership Team and reporting to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for delivering 'best in class' purchasing performance.

Managing an ingredient and packaging portfolio of £40million with a supplier base of circa. 90.

Working in partnership with suppliers, internal stakeholders and collaboratively with the NPD, Technical and Replenishment teams to drive excellence within the business and, in turn, to customers.

Key Responsibilities:
* Subject matter expert for the business and key stake holders.
* Total responsibility for all inbound raw materials, including food, packaging and consumables.
* To manage the Procurement function, including a small team, in day-to-day activities.
* To lead and develop the Procurement Strategy, meeting specific requirement targets.
* Establish and maintain supplier partnerships with key supplier partners.
* Monitor key commodities and define strategic sourcing requirements.
* Negotiate best terms and cost prices, based on quality, service and value.
* Identify, lead and manage cost saving initiatives.
* Work with key stakeholders to aid business vision and goals.
* Provide support to NPD and Technical Teams where necessary.
* Manage, control, and maintain internal systems and pricing files.
* Develop suppliers to meet business requirements.
* Review and manage internal and external KPI's.

Person Skills and Qualifications:
* Previous senior management and leadership experience essential.
* In depth knowledge of supplier markets within the fresh produce sector.
* High level of commercial awareness.
* Ability to work as part of a high functioning team.
* Agility and speed of decision making.
* Problem solving skills.
* Project management experience.
* Strong communication skills.
* Able to work to tight deadlines.
* Excellent time management skills.
* Competent use of excel spreadsheets.

The Package:
Salary up to £70K per annum
Discretionary Bonus Scheme, based on Company performance.
Group Personal Pension Scheme - employer contribution 7.5%
