Are you a talented Head of Supply Chain seeking a new and exciting opportunity within the Fresh Food Manufacturing industry? Gilfresh Produce is seeking to recruit a Head of Supply Chain to join our team within our fast growing FMCG family business.

This role will give you the responsibility for all aspects of the supply chain at our manufacturing site. The person will work within our 3 pillars of People, Plant and Prosperity.

Responsible For: 4 direct reports

The Role:

PEOPLE

  • Work collaboratively with the Group Leadership Team to deliver goals across all business units.

  • Establish a fit-for purpose supply chain organisation to underpin the sustainable processes of the business.

  • Enable a high performing culture and in particular:

  • Ensure that Gilfresh Values are applied without exception.

  • Design a supply chain organisation capable of delivering its responsibilities every day.

  • Create an environment of effective and transparent communication, where employees are well informed, accountable, feel free to challenge and express ideas for improvement.

  • Develop and maintain working relationships with new and existing suppliers to generate quality and growth opportunities for the group.

​PLANET

  • Ensure business processes are in place to deliver orders to plan without exception.

  • Implement a Gilfresh Gold Standard for growers which maps onto sustainability development goals and ESG deliverables, and support them to build plans to meet it.

  • Understand the strategic plan and implement commercial strategies to position Gilfresh as a customer of choice for growers and other suppliers.

PROSPERITY

​Improve the profitability, cash flow and working capital efficiency through management of supply chain:

  • Embedding the regular governance of sales forecasts to confirm that Sales, Profit (cost model) and Cash flow targets will be met (SIOP).

  • Where price variances occur, corrective action is taken to enable the business to achieve its end goals.

  • Enable and accept quality produce into pack houses to meet requirements.

  • Work with Commercial Lead to ensure necessary cost reduction/avoidance and cash flow action plans are in place to sustain and improve profitability as the business grows (or to control costs / preserve cash in instances where sales and activity levels are in decline).
