They are a busy, long established, RCVS-accredited, independent veterinary practice.

The practice is situated in a thriving market town, just 35miles outside of central London.

My clients main case load consists of Companion Animals.

There is plenty of opportunity for support and training to provide ongoing development.

My clients ethos is to provide a high standard of supportive and compassionate care to their clients and their pets.

There is always a friendly face or a spare hand to help out.

The Job Role details:

An exciting opportunity has arisen at my clients fabulous veterinary practice for a full time Head Registered Vet Nurse (HRVN).

Aim of the role:

My client is looking for an enthusiastic, confident, team player, who is cheerful and who is willing to get stuck in.

Key Responsibilities:

My client is looking to a HRVN to manage all aspects of the nursing team, ensuring excellent teamwork and the highest level of clinical care.

The successful individual will deliver a high standard of nursing care to the patients, assist the veterinary surgeons, liaise with clients with regards to inpatient care and carry out nurse clinics.

Deliver an advanced standard of nursing and support Student veterinary nurse's (SVN's) through their training and the assessment process.

Ideal Person Skills and Qualifications:

MUST be a qualified RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN).

MUST be an enthusiastic, confident, team player, who is cheerful and willing to get stuck in.

MUST be organised and passionate about employee development.

MUST be happy to mentor less experienced colleagues.

MUST be capable of managing nursing and nursing services, such as the auxiliary team) by organising the duty rota according to activity/departmental need, anticipating when clinical activity increases/decreases, managing the forward planning of absences and the effective use of temporary staff, ensuring the correct skill mix is in place to deliver care.

MUST be clinically based, working alongside junior nurses, auxiliaries, and other clinical staff, ensuring the highest level of patient care is delivered.

MUST provide consistent, clear, clinical, and professional leadership and act as a mentor for all staff demonstrating professional awareness and accountability in care.

MUST be willing to manage students.

IDEALLY looking for at least 12 months of UK experience or more.

IDEALLY would live within 45mins of the practice.

Additional Information:

5 weeks holiday plus bank holidays

Generous CPD allowance

Pension scheme

40hrs per week.

Salary package:

£24,000+ depending upon experience
