Irrigation Technician
Location of the Job: Predominantly Essex, Suffolk, South Norfolk and West Cambridgeshire.
The Company: Our client specialises in the design, supply, installation and maintenance of irrigation systems.
The Industry: Agriculture, Farming, Residential, Horticultural and Commercial Irrigation.
The Job Role:
Installation of new, and the maintenance and servicing of existing irrigation systems. Our clients customers base is varied and includes private residential customers, large landscaping contractors, sports stadiums and the farming sector. The job is varied which ensures every day there is a new challenge whether it be installing a new system in the lawns of a large country residence or replacing a pump on a floating pontoon in the middle of a reservoir on a farm.
Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will:
Carry out installation of new watering systems working alongside a design team and commission them upon completion.
Maintain, service and fault finding on existing systems.
Operate mechanical equipment such as trenches, diggers and turf cutting equipment.
Ideal person skills & qualifications:
The suitable candidate will have/be:
Experience in either irrigation of plumbing/pipework installations.
A basic level of electrical knowledge.
Knowledge and understanding of the use of power tools.
Experience in use of plant equipment.
Enjoy working outdoors.
Like a challenge.
Prepared to work away from home when the need arises.
A team player but also not afraid to work alone on occasions.
Mechanical background of any description.
Additional information:
This is a permanent full-time position.
Normal working hours 7am - 4pm.
Overtime will be expected during the longer summer months when installation and service work is at its peak.
Salary Package: A basic hourly rate of £10 - £14.50 per hour depending on experience.
