Learning Coach Agriculture Apprenticeships

Broomfield Hall site, Ilkeston, Derbyshire, DE7 6DN

Derby College Group

Hours: 22.2hours per week (0.6 FTE), 52 weeks per year.

A new opportunity has arisen to join our excellent land-based apprenticeships team based at our Broomfield Hall site with access to over 200 acres of beautiful grounds. You will perform the role of Learning Coach for Agriculture Apprenticeships undertaking assessments and delivering national framework and standards at Level 2 and Level 3 within a variety of settings including onsite at Broomfield Hall, working at home and with local employers.

Your days will be varied in this role, and you’ll be doing things such as meeting with employers, working with colleagues to plan activities, and of course working closely with our apprentices, training the next generation to ensure they thrive and succeed. You will receive full support from us to achieve additional qualifications and CPD if this is of interest to you. While it is desirable that you hold an A1 Assessor Award, it is not essential, as we will provide funding and support to achieve this qualification.

Other examples of benefits you’ll have access to as a Derby College employee include access to the Local Government Pension Scheme, discounts at selected retailers, free eyecare tests and discounted rail travel.

To be successful as a Learning Coach you will be highly motivated and be able to work independently to ensure high achievement rates of qualifications with monthly targets met within the land-based apprenticeship provision. You will strive to maintain above average success rates in all areas, using innovation within your teaching and assessing whilst utilising e-learning opportunities. Here at Derby College Group, we believe in providing lessons which you would like to attend and like to encourage all staff to provide students with a great range of learning opportunities theoretically and practically.

You will be flexible, self-motivated and dedicated to student achievement and quality. Up to date knowledge and experience of agriculture, and the wider land-based provision, including health and safety, general farm worker, livestock, and the use of machinery is essential.

A driving license is mandatory for this role due to visiting employers offsite. Travel expense reimbursements will be given.

The successful candidate will also be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
