Sales Administrator Bookkeeper

Location of the Job:
Office based in Redditch, Worcestershire.

Salary & Benefits Package:

  • Paying a basic salary up to £30,000 per year depending on experience.

  • 20 days paid holiday plus Bank holidays.

  • Company pension scheme.

Additional Information:

  • This is a permanent position.

  • Office hours are 39 hours per week, including 30 minutes lunch break.

  • These hours may be reduced to 32-33 hours by negotiation.

The Job Role Details:
An experienced Sales Administrator / Bookkeeper for a small but active, rurally based company who supply products to dairy farmers. This company is well-established (35 years) which develops and markets specialist products used by farmers in the UK, Europe and USA.

Now seeking to replace their Sales Administrator / Bookkeeper who is retiring after 18 years with the company.

Key Responsibilities:
You will…

Look after the company bookkeeping using Sage One software including:

  • Sales invoicing.

  • Input of all transactions relating to sales and purchases.

  • Bank reconciliation.

  • Produce and submit VAT returns.

  • Credit control.

  • Payment of suppliers.

  • Monthly sales and purchase reports.

  • Monthly update of debtors and creditors.

Other duties include:

  • Liaising with accountants and producing detailed files enabling them to prepare year end accounts.

  • Telephone reception, dealing with enquiries, receiving orders.

  • Order processing - entering in Sage, pick and pack, label, despatch.

  • Stock control and reordering of some of our products.

  • Purchasing of office consumables.

  • Creating import/export documentation (both EU and non-EU).

  • Arranging international transport of goods as above.

  • Foreign currency accounts - payments, cashflow and forecasting.

Ideal Person Skills & Qualifications:
You will have / be…

  • Book-keeping experience in a similar role or be newly qualified in accounts.

  • A knowledge of farming, particularly dairy farming, would be beneficial but not essential.

  • Excellent telephone manner.

  • IT literate.

  • Excellent communication and numeracy skills.

  • Friendly and helpful towards customers.

  • Happy to work as part of a small team.

  • Experience using Sage software.

  • Full product training will be given.

Essential Skills:

  • Book keeping or accounts experience.

  • Admin experience in a similar role.
