Sales & Marketing Manager – Home Based

National Milk Records plc (NMR) is the leading supplier of management information to enable dairy herd improvement. Delivering milk quality, health and genomic testing services, NMR provides data on individual cows’ performance to the dairy industry in the UK to assist with informed decision making. Due to continued growth, we require a full time Sales & Marketing Manager which will be home based including driving when required.

The Role:

To be responsible for:

  • Sales

  • Management of the field-based sales team (Area Development Managers)

  • Revenue growth

  • Market penetration of products and testing

  • Marketing

  • Developing and implementing company marketing plan

  • Development of Group Company branding

  • Management of budgets

  • Developing & maintaining company website

  • Developing and maintaining the PR

Essential Key Skills & Requirements:

  • A graduate business / marketing or relevant commercial experience

  • 5 years + Sales & Marketing experience in similar role or equivalent

  • 3 years account management or equivalent

  • Management of a Team through KPI’s

  • Budgeting and forecasting experience for revenue & expenditure

  • Written and verbal communication and presentation skills

  • Problem solving skills

  • Ability to network

  • A positive and can-do attitude

  • Data orientated, able to analyse statistics

  • Self-motivated with a positive, enthusiastic attitude

  • Full current driving license

Preferred Skills & Requirements:

  • Farming experience and knowledge of the dairy industry

  • On Farm software experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Motivate, coach, and inspire the direction of the sales and marketing team

  • Coordinate sales and marketing campaigns and initiatives to achieve business objectives

  • Shape training and performance evaluations of the team to develop and deliver sales and marketing initiatives

  • Identify and understand client’s business needs and objectives to develop sales and marketing initiatives

  • Own website together with all social media channels, strategy, and activity

  • To own develop and deliver cross company branding in alignment with Vision Mission & Values

  • Mentor and coach, the development of sales and marketing teams

  • Spearhead, implement and manage sales forecasting activities, targets, sectors, markets, regions and set performance goals to achieve company objectives and grow market share in alignment with strategic plan

  • Plan, implement and optimise sales lead generation campaigns and measure results

  • Creation, implementation and management of the marketing plan and activity, including events e.g., Farm walks and shows

  • Prepare and present sales reports detailing sales, potential sales, product penetration, and areas of proposed customer expansion

  • Review and analyse sales and marketing performance against plans to determine effectiveness and return on investment (ROI) for both monetary and manpower

  • Engage directly with key clients to maintain relationships to support product development and service delivery

  • Key Account development opportunities e.g., Buying Groups – identifying and developing

  • Business Development – identifying, working and hands on closing opportunities in strategic sales areas

  • System development – champion CRM and Customer On Farm Software packages to deliver improved targeting, relationship management and sales execution across the customer base

  • Product development – to monitor and react to changing demands of the market with the development of appropriate products

  • Take ownership and be accountable for the marketing/sales cost budgets

  • Territory Planning and organisation of sales team

  • Recruitment as and when required in sales & marketing team

  • Identification of potential markets and customers

  • Development of related networks, e.g.

  • Vets

  • 3rd party industry partners

  • Ag. Colleges

  • Development and maintenance of:

  • Potential customer data base

  • CRM system
