Sales Manager - Vegetable Machinery

Location of the Job: Yorkshire, South Yorkshire, Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield.

The Company: Is a specialist producer of vegetable machinery.

The Industry: Farm Machinery, Agricultural Machinery, Fresh Produce Processing Machinery, Packaging Equipment.

The Job Role Details:
The position is key to the organisation's sales and marketing activity and you will use a range of skills to both maintain and develop relationships with the existing core customer base as well as expanding opportunities with new clients.

Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be expected to manage the sector with a great deal of autonomy, reporting back on a regular basis with updates, market intelligence and a detailed analysis of customer needs.

The post will require extensive travel and overnight stops to visit sites and customers production facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
You will:

  • Actively seek & secure sales of machinery & systems into the Fresh Produce Processing and Packing Industry.

  • Establish sound relationships with key contacts within customer organisations.

  • Agree the business plan with senior management team, deliver and develop with regular updates.

  • Keep senior management fully informed of activities and developments through regular submission of reports and plans.

  • Attend exhibitions as and when required in the UK and abroad.

Ideal Person Skills & Qualifications:
You will have / be:

  • An established and demonstrably successful career in selling high-value equipment & solutions (5 years minimum).

  • Knowledge of tendering processing and requirements.

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Experience of working at a strategic level.

  • A technical background is not essential, but a grasp of engineering principles and layout drawings is necessary.

  • Ability to influence and negotiate at the highest level.

  • Excellent listening and communication skills.

  • Computer literate specifically in Microsoft Office.

  • Good problem solver.

  • Highly self-motivated.

Additional Information:

  • This is a permanent full-time position.

  • You will be office based 1 day per week - then field based during the rest of the week.

Salary Package: A competitive salary in the range of £45,000 - £50,000 depending on experience.
