Sales Representative - Houghton Parkhouse Ltd, Milnthorpe
Overview
Houghton Parkhouse is seeking an experienced Sales Executive to join our team at our Head Office in South Lakeland. We are on the border of Cumbria and Lancashire, within an area of outstanding natural beauty, close to excellent schools, universities, colleges and NHS health services. The business operates from our high-tech manufacturing facility, which is based between junctions 35 and 36 of the M6.
This is an exciting, permanent opportunity to join one of the UK’s long established, leading design and manufacturer of livestock transporters and trailers, with sales throughout the UK and Europe.
We are now looking to expand our Sales Team to ensure we can keep up with demand and continue to offer an excellent service and innovative design solutions for our clients.
Reporting to the Sales Director, the job role and responsibilities are as follows:
• Supporting the internal Sales Team to undertake administration and other office duties
• Promoting and generating new sales enquiries
• Retaining existing clients and introducing new clients to our products
• Work with the Sales Team to increase the market position of the company in the UK and Europe
• Prepare specifications, quotations and invoices
• Work closely with the Design and Production teams, liaising with production during the design and manufacture of the products
• Assist with promotion of company products and services
• Attend Trade & Agricultural shows and exhibitions in UK and Europe and any other events that may be relevant
• Monitor sales performance and report progress to Directors
• Deal with customer feedback and aftersales
• Keep CRM updated and make sure all client contacts are kept updated and are current
The ideal candidate will:
• Have at least three years’ experience in a similar role
• Have an engineering background
• Be proficient in IT systems, CRM software and Data analysis
• Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written
• Possess excellent time management and organisational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise work load
• Have knowledge of sales practices and customer service techniques
• Have the ability to build good working relationships
• Have experience with account management and acquiring new business
• Be self-motivated with a proven ability to manage the sales process from start to completion
• Possess an eagerness to learn and continually improve on technical product knowledge
• Commercial vehicle body building and trailer industry knowledge desirable, but not essential
• Possess and excellent work ethic and sense of humour
• Have a current driving licence
