Sales Representative

Location of the Job:

  • Office based initially, therefore you will need to be local and commutable to the office in and near to Nottinghamshire/Lincolnshire.
  • Travelling to Ireland and overseas once trained on products and sales processes.

Salary & Benefits Package:

  • Paying up to £35,000 salary depending on experience.
  • Company bonus scheme.
  • Future availability of a company vehicle after 6 months.

Additional Information:

  • This is a permanent full-time position.
  • A minimum of 18 months training will be given upon joining.

The Job Role Details:

You will be principal point of contact between the business and its customers, and your key objective is to effectively promote and sell the company's products and services whilst providing exceptional customer service and fostering strong, long-lasting relationships.

  • Maintain open communication, providing activity and results reports, addressing bottlenecks, and implementing improvements to enhance departmental performance.
  • Meet sales targets by strategically planning and budgeting for the specific customer group, addressing customer needs, and evaluating product specifications.
  • Foster strong, long-lasting customer relationships by servicing existing accounts, obtaining orders, and establishing new accounts through proactive communication and understanding of customer needs.
  • Monitor the marketplace, including competitor activities and emerging trends, to inform product recommendations and strategic decisions.
  • Resolve customer complaints promptly and effectively, investigating issues, developing solutions, and providing recommendations to management.
  • Support the procurement department with accurate demand forecasting to ensure inventory alignment with customer demand.
  • Organise daily work schedules to efficiently service existing and potential customers, focusing on market share growth and customer retention.
  • Scout for new customers and actively engage in new customer acquisition strategies.
  • Participate in important fairs and maintain active contact with marketing teams to organize fair participation effectively.
  • Track sales performance, report progress, and conduct business intelligence activities in the assigned area, collecting and structuring information to support product development choices.
  • Prepare sales budgets and forecasts, aligning sales figures with strategic direction, and monitor customer payments to mitigate risks and delays effectively.

Ideal Person Skills & Qualifications:
You will have / be…

  • 5 + years' experience in B2B Sales (ideally in engineering or manufacturing company).
  • Happy to travel in a field sales role.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience setting sales goals.
  • Results-oriented with strong analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of commercial processes.
  • Knowledge of the Office package.
