Forestry Service Manager

Location of the Job: Based at the depot in Central / East of Scotland.

Salary & Benefits Package:

  • A highly competitive basic salary in the range of £35,000 - £43,000 DOE.

A leading, global and highly successful manufacturer of heavy machinery.

The Job Role Details:

Due to success and expansion, we are now looking for a Service Manager to lead a well-established team of Engineers to join the busy After Sales team for a leading heavy machinery company.

Based at the depot in Scotland, the successful candidate will be responsible for all workshop and field operations throughout Scotland and be responsible for leading, supporting and developing a nationwide team of Engineers.

You will hold a place within the management group and be responsible for the continued growth of the company's aftersales business.

  • Do you have excellent communication skills and a proven track record in aftersales?

Key Responsibilities:
You will…

  • Be responsible for all field and workshop activities.

  • Deliver Service Department budgets and other key metrics.

  • Develop new possibilities to improve aftersales services.

  • Monitor machinery/equipment problems and concerns.

  • Seek support from appropriate departments so that necessary action can be taken.

  • Develop and manage a team of 10+ service staff, to achieve expected performance metrics and goals.

  • Build and maintain customer relationships.

  • Visit customers.

Ideal Person Skills & Qualifications:
You will have / be…

  • Experience of leading a service team or workshop team within a similar role or company.

  • Experience of managing a team of engineers.

  • Able to use modern business systems.

  • Good knowledge of current Health and Safety legislation.

  • Proven business acumen.

Other suitable skills and experience includes:
Lead Engineer, After Sales Manager, Senior Engineer, Team Leader, Field Team Leader.

Essential Skills:

  • Experience working in the heavy machinery sector; Forestry, Agricultural, Farming, Construction or Heavy Plant.

  • People management experience.

  • No more than 1 hour's commute of the depot.
