Job Title: Small Animal Vet

Location of the Job: Northamptonshire, West Midlands, England, United Kingdom

The Company:

My clients are a busy, long established, RCVS-accredited, independent small animal, equine and farm animal veterinary practice.

They are a team of skilled Vets, Nurses and Receptionists, striving to provide excellent patient care for their customers animals, alongside an understanding of your concerns as an owner.

Provide their own 24 hour emergency service, ensuring that when their customers need them most, they will be there for them.

Consultations are available mornings, afternoons and evenings.

Nurse clinics are also available during the day for post-operative checks, weight clinics or minor upsets.

Their experienced equine team of vets provide routine work, such as 2 and 5 stage horse vetting's, flu jabs, and routine dentistry as well as emergency care around the clock for their customers horses, ponies and donkeys.

My clients also provide a complete routine service to a wide range of farming enterprises, such as dairy, beef and sheep.

There are 6 1/2 Vets currently, who are a friendly bunch with a wealth of experience and good support network.

The team also includes 14 excellent veterinary nurses (12 of which are qualified). 

This position does require out of hours cover for the practices loyal clients and there is 24/7 on site VN support.

OOH includes weekends and weeknights shared between 6 vets, with generous time off in lieu of the OOH worked. 

4½ days per week, 5 weeks holiday, 4 days funded CPD and attractive salary package including pension scheme and housing allowance.

The Job Role details:

An exciting opportunity has arisen at my clients fabulous veterinary practice for a full time Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to start ASAP.

Aim of the role:

My client is looking for an enthusiastic, confident, team player, cheerful and vet who is willing to get stuck in.

Key Responsibilities:

To be a full time Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon.

Duties will include consulting, surgical procedures, minor procedures, client liaison, working up cases, caring for hospitalised animals, treatment plans and visits.

This position does require out of hours cover for the practices loyal clients and there is 24/7 on site VN support.

Ideal Person Skills and Qualifications:

MUST be a qualified RCVS registered Vet.

MUST be an enthusiastic, confident, team player, cheerful vet who is willing to get stuck in.

IDEALLY looking for at least 12 months of UK experience or more, however a confident new graduate would be considered.

IDEALLY looking for an individual with surgical bias, which will be welcomed and supported.

IDEALLY would live within 45mins of the practice.

Additional Information:

5 weeks holiday plus bank holidays

4 days fully funded CPD allowance

Pension scheme

40hrs per week - would consider part time.

Salary package:

£29,000 - £50,000+ depending upon experience
