My clients have been looking after pets in the Durham area for many years and have been nominated for Practice of the Year several times.

They are a busy, long established, RCVS-accredited, independent first opinion veterinary practice. Nice facilities, a quirky building and lots of nurses.

The practice is situated in a thriving cathedral city and county town, in the North East.

My clients main case load consists of Companion Animals.

There is plenty of opportunity for support and training. For a new graduate vet my clients can provide ongoing development.

My clients ethos is to provide a high standard of supportive and compassionate care to their clients and their pets.

There is always a friendly face or a spare hand to help out.

The Job Role details:

An exciting opportunity has arisen at my clients fabulous veterinary practice for a full time Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to start ASAP.

Aim of the role:

My client is looking for an enthusiastic, confident, team player, cheerful vet who is willing to get stuck in.

There is always plenty of support available for a new graduate - there is always at least one 'oldie' around to help!

Key Responsibilities:

To be a full time Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon.

Duties will include consulting, surgical procedures, minor procedures, client liaison, working up cases, caring for hospitalised animals, treatment plans and visits.

My clients still do their own OOH - BUT there is a nurse on site to take phones and deal with in patients etc.

The OOH is on a one in four rota, and usually isn't very busy or demanding.

Accommodation is available away from the main site.

Ideal Person Skills and Qualifications:

MUST be a qualified RCVS registered Vet.

MUST be an enthusiastic, confident, team player, cheerful vet who is willing to get stuck in.

IDEALLY looking for at least 12 months of UK experience or more, however a confident new graduate would be considered.

IDEALLY looking for an individual with surgical bias, which will be welcomed and supported.

IDEALLY would live within 45mins of the practice.

Additional Information:

5 weeks holiday plus bank holidays

4 days fully funded CPD allowance

Pension scheme

35hrs per week - would consider part time.

Salary package:

£30,000 - £50,000+ depending upon experience
