Software Developer (2 X POSITIONS)

About Us:

National Milk Records (NMR) has provided information services for farmers and milk buyers since its formation in 1943.

We play a critical role in the food supply chain, with the core of our business testing animal milk and tissue in our laboratories. This testing supports the dairy industry in the quality of milk that consumers buy, the productivity of dairy herds and, increasingly, supporting environment and sustainability credentials.

Since NMR became listed in 1996, software and data services have been central to how we engage with our customers and partners, both in terms of capturing information on farm and suppling test results from our laboratories.

Using our established position as an AgTech provider, NMR is now investing in a new software and data architecture. We will be building web and mobile data & software applications using a service orientated architecture.

We have an established team of developers, testers and business analysts, and are now looking to extend the team to help with a number of new projects, including genomics testing and on-farm recording.

The Role:

We are looking to recruit a fullstack developer to be at the forefront of developing our future state architecture. You will be working closely with the technical product manager, business analyst, test analyst, solutions architect, technical lead and other developers to build our new applications.

Skills and Environment (please note, not all essential): Azure, .NET, C#, SQL Server, PostGIS/MongoDB, Python, JSON, API, Angular/React, Scrum/Kanban, DevOps, CI/CD, Jenkins, Git, Microservices.

As the successful Fullstack Developer, you will be involved in agile software product development to deliver robust, well-tested, quality software and data applications, as well as support and contribute to a team ethos based on openness, purposeful and collaborative.

Daily interaction with team members is important, so we are looking for someone who has good verbal and written English. We will be developing a number of new applications, using new technologies and you will be needed to share your knowledge and brain-storm with the rest of the team.

This is an excellent opportunity to join an established AgTech company, with investment to develop new software and data services, whilst making a difference to our food supply chain, environment and sustainability.

Working for NMR:

Working at NMR is so much more than just a job as we are an integral part of the farming community. Our staff provide the highest quality recording, testing, health and fertility services & products, supporting farmers and the dairy industry to improve profitable production and animal welfare.

We offer a wide range of career opportunities, particularly to those who are attracted to the ever-changing and modernising farming industry and our teams are dedicated in providing high levels of value and customer service.
